Sound & Color is an audiovisual installation that explores the reciprocal relationship between sound and image, examining how the two mediums interact, influence and shape one another to create a heightened sensory experience.
Crafted through the tactile processes of drawing, painting, and scratching on 16mm clear leader film, this installation merges abstract visuals with a collage of found sounds, extracted from videos and voice memo recordings from my personal audio archive.
My fascination with the symbiotic nature of sound and image stems from the deeply intertwined relationship between auditory and visual realms. I have always found that sounds possess visual qualities, and imagery evokes sonic characteristics. Drawing upon my personal synesthetic perception of the world, this project aims to evoke moments of heightened sensory engagement through the convergence of sound and image.
At the core of my inspiration lies an interest in moments where we are transported beyond our immediate surroundings – when we feel most alive. Sound & Color aims to capture the essence of these elusive moments, inviting the audience into an immersive and tangible experience.
